TODAY “Slay to Survive” will be built from scratch and brought back to life with the help from a few of my old bandmates of DoublEdged. I hope to get a camera up and running so you can get a glimpse of what we’re working on and the shenanigans that would most definitely take place today.
If all goes as planned, I’ll start a broadcast around 1pm (EST) and have it go for as long as I see fit.
Are you ready? Cause I am!
P.S. Since Facebook has gone in and made it even more difficult for musicians to interact with their fans, here’s how you can get all the Bullet of Reason news!
I’m feeling a little generous and want to give you a quick preview of what my track “Mechanical Holocaust” will sound like for the album. If you picked up the Breathing the Machine EP you would have heard a demo version of this track, and I’ve since gone in and completely re-worked it from the ground up. I think the only things that I kept were the machine sfx and my friend Ewart’s bassline (he is also the man responsible for the Breathing the Machine EP cover artwork as well as the artwork for the full album…. and I gotta tell you it looks kick ass!)
So here’s a sample of things to come. What do you think?
Controlling your mind / Mental genocide /You can’t escape the truth / This is your mechanical holocaust
Controlling your mind Synthetic thoughts forming the perfect formula for mental genocide Don’t try to hide You can’t escape the truth You’ve already lost This is your mechanical holocaust
Fueled by power Fueled be greed I am all that you need Your utopia, the source (The omega) When in reality I’m the perfect enemy
I’ve decided that the mix I’m working on for “Unfair” is good enough to show you a real quick preview of one of the choruses. When compared to the original track I did a few years back, you can see how much of a difference there actually is……. and I like it! At this rate, the track will be done sometime this year!!!!! YAY!
Just released my new track “Buildup (Teardown)” over on my SoundCloud page. Why don’t you head on over there (or just click on the SoundCloud widget here on my page) and rock out! It’s what all the cool kids are doing!
Simple answer to the title of this post….. yes, yes I am.
I’ve really considered covering the original version of the track for awhile now and I finally built up the courage to actually start working on it and eventually decided to take it The Complete Cellout way. It’s still very rough and needs the vocals (which will be fully recorded soon) and then it will be ready for mixing (unless I decide to either scrap the entire thing or want to add more to it….. who knows….)
Anytime I ask anyone if they like stuff is usually when there’s awkward silence and I’m forced to break it somehow. In this case, I’m actually presenting you with stuff that hopefully you’ll like… without the awkward part.
First off, I’d like to say that the title of this entry pretty much says it all. If you’re a remixer or if you want to start remixing…. or if you listened to Black Widow and thought to yourself “Damn, I could do so much better than the original; I want to remix the hell out of that track!” well now’s your lucky day! Head on over to this link and download the remix files for your remixing pleasure! I’d love to hear what you do to it!
Secondly, I’ve also uploaded the demo version of the title track from my upcoming album “Breathing the Machine”. It will be fully mixed and mastered (along with all the other tracks you’ve already heard from the EP as well as some material you haven’t had the chance to hear yet) next year at some time that would pose convenient for both myself and (hopefully) the studios I’ll be mastering them in. So if you wanna take a listen to what Breathing the Machine sounds like, then now’s your chance as it is now live on my SoundCloud page. If you don’t feel like leaving this page and you want to hear it, I’ve embedded the SoundCloud link at the bottom of this post (awwww, how nice of me!).
More goodies to come my friends, 2012 is going to be one hell of a busy year! Thank you all once again for your support and taking the time to listen to the noise that I like to call music!
