Slay to Survive… it’s happening TODAY

TODAY “Slay to Survive” will be built from scratch and brought back to life with the help from a few of my old bandmates of DoublEdged. I hope to get a camera up and running so you can get a glimpse of what we’re working on and the shenanigans that would most definitely take place today.

If all goes as planned, I’ll start a broadcast around 1pm (EST) and have it go for as long as I see fit.

Are you ready? Cause I am!

P.S. Since Facebook has gone in and made it even more difficult for musicians to interact with their fans, here’s how you can get all the Bullet of Reason news!

  1. Go to my Facebook Page “Bullet of Reason
  2. Hover over the “Like” button
  3. Click “Settings”
  4. Select “All Updates”

Thanks to everyone who’s been following me since the beginning and of course to my new fans! Keep rockin!!!

It’s almost ready…

It’s coming together very nicely and it’s almost done. Those are words I didn’t think I’d be saying anytime soon…. but it’s true. “Perfect Poison” has been cut from the album, but will not be forgotten. This will give the album a few extra minutes to play around with. “Stand Together” just needs some verse vocals set in place and then I can call it “pretty-much-complete”. Which leads me to some big news about “Slay to Survive”. I’m in the process of rebuilding this track from the ground up, starting it from scratch. But this time with a little bit of help…

As some of you may already know, “Slay to Survive” was originally a track from my old band DoublEdged. It was a huge tune (at least to us) and was possibly our favourite track. So my plan is to gather a few of my old band-mates together to bring this track back to life and essentially build a full length song full of pure rock and metal madness with the essential Bullet of Reason style electronics…

… But that’s not all that’ll be done with this track. I’ll also be looking at YOU for some help.

Stay tuned for more details!

Hello Father (PREVIEW)

Now I know I said I probably won’t post another preview until the full album is ready to go…… but I thought I’d be kind and give you a little taste of what’s happening!

Here’s a quick clip of “Hello Father”

Huge Album Update!!!

So here’s the deal… “Breathing the Machine” is coming closer to completion and I’ve been tossing around a few ideas on how I want to release it… and I think I’ve figured it out:

I will release the full album in what I like to call “Story Mode” through a CD release. This “mode” or version will have crossfades and give you the experience I originally planned for this album.

I’m also going to be releasing it as a Digital Download. This version will be released as “Shuffle Friendly”, meaning it will have the same tracklist as the CD release but will not have it fading into one another… that way if you want to pick and choose the tracks you want to play you won’t have the previous track possibly bleeding into the start of the next track.

I’ve also been tossing around the idea of releasing “Breathing the Machine” in a Deluxe Edition exclusively sold through my website (once I figure out how I’ll actually do it). This edition will essentially be a bundle package of the full album on CD in “Story Mode”, the digital version in “Shuffle Friendly”, as well as the entire album as Instrumentals (digital download only). I will also personally sign each Deluxe Edition package and personally mail it out to you myself while you get to enjoy the digital version as you wait for the physical album in the mail.
I still need to figure out how to do this method, but I swear I’ll figure it out!

Here’s where you come in. As we are now living in the digital age of downloads and CDs seem to be fading away into oblivion (which saddens me greatly), should I even consider releasing this album as a physical release or just as a download only album? Who here would actually be interested in having a physical copy of the album in their hands so they can listen to it the “old fashioned way”? I’m really only asking this because I want to do my best to invest however much I need to invest on the priorities. I don’t want to print 100 or more CDs and have them just sit in a box waiting to become a coaster at my family events or whatever…….. though they may make fun and deadly frisbees. The life of an independent artist!

So what say you? How do you feel about all this? I really do value your opinion and would love to hear back from you!

Oh and on a side note… if all goes as planned… this album will be release in the early weeks of summer…… just saying. And I’m really excited! It’s about damn time!

Until next update!

Unfair (Remix Kit)

For those remixers out there and people who wish to cover my track “Unfair”, I’ve got some good news for you! I’m giving you the stems so you can go ahead and slice away at those files and remix it into your own creation! I look forward to seeing and hearing what kind of madness you guys create!

To Newtown With Love Bundle

The Newtown With Love bundle, put together by FiXT and Groupees has officially launched! You can pick up a wide range of music from many different artists like Celldweller, Blue Stahli, Voicians, Squarehead and many more! I’ve also got “Black Widow” as well as an unreleased track “Resolution” from my upcoming album featured on the “Music For Newtown” compilation.

The #ToNewtownWithLove Bundle was organized in response to the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary this past December. As creators, we understand that art can provide joy, inspiration and meaning to people. However, as powerful of medium as the arts can be, they cannot undo the loss of life or the impact a tragedy like this has on the victims’ families, friends, community, and the rest of the world. Our goal for this promotion is to support, uplift, and memorialize the spirits of the victims and their families as well as shine a bright and enduring light on the community of Newtown. May the World not simply stop for a moment to take pity on a small town and its people, but rather may we all be reminded everyday by the work of these artists that change is needed to prevent tragedies like this from ever happening again anywhere and everywhere.

All content has been donated & 100% of donations will be donated to the Sandy Hook School Support Fund, a charitable fund established jointly by United Way of Western Connecticut and Newtown Savings Bank to support the Newtown community following the Sandy Hook School tragedy.

Head over to http://groupees.com/newtown between Jan 3 – 17 where you can make your donation! $1 (minimum) for access to a ‘limited’ initial bundle or $5+ (public can donate any amount over $5 they wish for access to the whole initial bundle)

Best Regards,

Adam of Bullet of Reason

Unfair… and the future!

If you’ve been following me on Facebook, you would know that I’ve been working on reconstructing the single “Unfair” off my first album to give it a little more punch and to make it as aggressive as I originally intended it to be. It will actually be featured on the upcoming album “Breathing the Machine”.

I did, however, say that I might actually have this track done by the end of this year. Conveniently I finished the mastering process last night and had a listen to it on the big boy speakers and was finally happy with it.

So before I get to it (unless you’ve already scrolled down and downloaded it as you’re reading this), I just wanted to thank you all for being with me this year. It’s been an incredible year full of knowledge and making new friends and catching up with all the old ones and doing my absolute best to keep track of everything that’s been going on in my life. You are all the reason why I continue to strive to make Bullet of Reason better and better (at least, I think it’s getting better… for all I know you could be thinking it’s a piece of crap), and I plan on involving each and every one of you on the upcoming album somehow to try and show my thanks. 2012 was a big year, but the plans I have for 2013 are even bigger….. maybe even hopefully getting a chance to see you in the crowd somewhere and get in front of a camera to start making some videos………. I digress.

Happy New Year to all you kick ass peeps out there and here’s to 2013!

The Wedding DJ Set

katty adamFor those of you who came out to my wedding this year, first of all I can’t thank you enough for celebrating such an awesome day with Kattryna and myself. As you saw and heard, I went behind the decks on my wedding and spun some tunes for you all… which lead to A LOT of you that wanted to get your hands on a copy of my set. Then the word spread to many people that I dropped some tunes down and then even more of you wanted to get a copy of what I played that night.

So here it is! A free download JUST FOR YOU of what I played on November 17th, 2012. I’ve also included the setlist so you know what you’re listening to!

You can stream it and/or download it (to download, just right-click and Save As)

Quick preview of “Unfair”

I’ve decided that the mix I’m working on for “Unfair” is good enough to show you a real quick preview of one of the choruses. When compared to the original track I did a few years back, you can see how much of a difference there actually is……. and I like it! At this rate, the track will be done sometime this year!!!!! YAY!

What do you think?
